About Me

I really don’t like writing about myself. How does one sum up in a few short paragraphs what took forty some odd years to develop? Who am I? I am follower of Christ, a husband, and a father; that covers the most important things. I make my living by translating the language of engineers into normal English, delivering it to customers in written form (in other words I’m a technical writer). I love the outdoors and spend copious time hiking and camping in the north woods of Minnesota and Wisconsin, looking for birds and other wild things. I also like to stab people with a reasonable facsimile of a sword in the sport of fencing. I read a lot, but not as much as I should. My favorite authors are J.R.R. Tolkien, EA Poe, David Eddings, Anne McCaffery, J.K. Rowlings, Jim Butcher, Tarol Hunt, Gary Smith, and Carrie Vauhgin. Of course, I missed a lot in that list, but the list is just too long to fit everyone.

I’ve been GMing roleplaying games since 1981 and painting minis since 1990. Yes, I have a rather large and heavy investment in lead and tin in my basement, most of which is not painted. I took the dive into sculpting minis in 2010 and found that I absolutely love it. I like realism in my fantasy, an oxymoron, I know, but something which I hope you will see in my artwork.

I like helping and teaching people. I like discussing the hobby, science, politics, and just about anything you can imagine, so feel free to send me your questions and comments, or look me up on the Reaper or WAMP forums.
